On September 18, 2026, the Amman Road Runners (ARR)’s newest race will be happening for the second year: the Rumman Challenge. As this unique race approaches, we would like to offer you the opportunity to collaborate with us in this special event.
The Rumman Challenge is held under the patronage of HRH Princess Basma bint Ali and takes place in Jordan’s flagship Royal Botanical Gardens, nestled in the green hills of Tal Rumman and overlooking the expansive King Talal Dam. This unique event is designed to test the endurance, speed, climbing abilities, and strategy of cyclists and runners. This race spans 3.3 kilometers with an elevation gain of 270 meters, and is held on the iconic Tal Rumman where Jordan Rally’s Al Hussein Rumman Hill Climb has taken place since the early 1960s. During the Rumman Challenge, both cyclists and runners will have the opportunity to compete for their best times and be crowned ‘King/Queen of the Hill’.
At its core, the Rumman Challenge – as with ARR’s previous running and cycling events – aims to promote the spirit of sports, encouraging runners and cyclists to challenge themselves regardless of their experience level. Furthermore, ARR strives to ensure that the accomplishments of both women and men, as well as younger and older athletes are celebrated, offering gender-specific and age category awards to encourage a diverse participant base.
